Koi fish are a common symbol in both Chinese and Japanese culture. There are many ancient legends involving the carp fish.

This fish history dating back hundreds of years ago and is deeply rooted in Japanese culture. It tells the story of the carp, which, thanks to their perseverance was able to sail up a rushing stream to reach the top of the waterfall, and thus achieve the impossible.

The Chinese version of the legend is a bit different, but the meaning is similar. Koi carp flows dragon gate located on the Yellow River, so that the fish becomes a beautiful dragon. This is achieved through perseverance in the pursuit of the goal, but also courage and strength.

Many of the attributes of the koi symbolizes the events and trials in our lives. The koi carp has a powerful and energetic life force. Some of the characteristics associated with the koi include:

Good fortune
Success
Prosperity
Longevity
Courage
Ambition
Perseverance

Also, the colors and the direction in which the fish swimming is symbolism. Certain colors represent certain aspects or outcomes in life.
The koi fish is a synonym for harmony and happiness.

The Geishas tradition stems from the eighteenth century. Geishas are masters in the art of conversation, dancing, singing and playing traditional Japanese instruments (such as the shamisen). They deal with a calligraphy, ikebana and other Japanese arts and they are experts of tea ceremony (cha - no - yu). Woman before  the geisha must undergo six years of being a maiko.  The geishas services are generally paid according to the rates.   Geishas widely regarded as the guardian of tradition, which manifests itself in costumes and how to express themselves.  Make up Geishas, is also traditional and and consists of a white-painted face and neck, her lips painted red, eyes outlined with black and pink, eyebrows painted black. Geishas have played a significant role in the economy and politics of Japan. In the Meiji period was said to be ambitious officer should have two goals in life: to take geisha as wife  and become a minister. However, even geishas non-officials' wives had a huge influence.
Japanese people to this day believe Geishas as the ideal of feminine beauty.
